Goodbye money!
I’m determined now. I’ll get my instrument rating by March 17th.

Interestingly enough though, I'm really enjoying...
Considering that figuring out which way to hold and how to enter the hold used to confuse me to no end.
I’ve gotta say, I’m ready for this phase of my training to be over. I’m not having any second thoughts about flying, but learning the instrument rules and procedures is starting to become a drag. I just want to be at the point where I know them already . Hopefully just a...
I hate learning about the weather
So much. So so much.
I hate Stage Checks
At best, the debriefing afterwards goes:
“You did pretty well: but you did
this
this
this
this
this
this
this
and that
all wrong”
There’s almost no emphasis on anything I did correctly, it’s all about what I didn’t do well. I know it’s all the help me get up to the practical test standards, but fuck, it’s not encouraging at all.

White Plains Air Traffic Controllers caught... →
Looks like I won’t be flying to White Plains anytime soon. If these guys can’t stay alert for airliners, how off guard will a little plane like me catch them?
I'm on a roll

This is the second time I’m seeing them on Friday the 13th come to think of it
Going to see Bill Maher do standup in May
This oughta be good

Hold up, let me get this straight
The Cribs announced the track listing and the title for their new album, then release a free download of their new single, then announce that they’ll be playing in Brooklyn the day before my birthday?
YES

LNAV, VNAV, LPV, LP, RNAV, APV, WAAS
Holy shit I’m going crazy here.
What?
From the Cessna IFR course:
LNAV/VNAV, like LPV, is an APV (Approach with vertical guidance)
- Is NOT a WAAS approach
In the G1000 Skyhawk you can only fly LNAV/VNAV approaches if you have WAAS
Does this seem contradictory to anyone? How is it not a WAAS approach if you need WAAS to fly it?

I guess the upside to today was that bad...
Today didn’t go well, at all.
My flight today was from North Palm General Aviation Airport, to Treasure Cay, to Marsh Harbour, to West Palm Beach, back to North Palm General Aviation. Basically, for those of you who don’t know, another trip to the Bahamas. A much further trip though, and just for the flying.
I decided to take the flight today because tomorrow, my passport expires,...
Scared the shit out of myself landing in West Palm...
When I flew the C152, that made me uncomfortable.
But this had me actually shaking after exiting the runway. Landing in a 50 degree crosswind at 14 knots, gusting 22, on a tiny, 3200x75 foot runway was one of the most nerve wracking flying experiences I’ve had so far. So much so I called my instructor to come fly back with me from North County, only a 5 minute flight away.
I’m...
It feels really weird saying this again
But I got accepted to SUNY Stony Brook!

Before I go back to New York I intend to:
Fly to the Florida Keys
Fly to Orlando and go to either Disney or Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Fly to Sarasota
Fly back to the Bahamas, probably to Nassau this time.
At least I can say that these flying hours go towards my commercial license.
2012 is going to be such a good year for music
Especially for local music. There will be new releases from:
Ghost Pal
Injun Magic
(Exitpost)
Sister Helen
Hooves
Saw Palmetto
Anna Bradley (most important one of all, obviously haha)
Additionally, some of my favorite major artists will be releasing new albums as well
The Cribs
The Gaslight Anthem
Bloc Party
I can’t wait!
Looking at a flight plan from North Palm Beach, FL...
In a C172 it’d only take around 9 hours flight time.
Don’t do this to yourself, Daniel, it’ll never happen.

Wow, “I clicked on the source to see if this was legit. The staff really sent this.” - that’s just a flat out lie.
Also, “every Tumblr account that don’t reblog this” - am I the only one that thinks the staff would make...
